Artists are a unique species. Sometimes an artist's passion for art becomes an obsession which completely takes over their living space. At what point does this preoccupation border on the dysfunctional?

For this ongoing project, Gabe Kirchheimer is documenting the rarely seen homes of artists both obscure and well known. Merely displaying lots of art on the walls hardly qualifies for inclusion. When every inch of the kitchen or bathroom is decorated – sometimes to the point of eclipsing functionality – we enter the private realm of artists whose every waking moment is consumed by art. Whether we perceive this as healthy or not, the domestic artworks featured in this series are sure to fascinate viewers and voyeurs alike.
