On 12/12/04 the Sunday New York Times featured "Tea With Ken," from Burning Man 2003,
on the back page of the Arts & Leisure section, along with a great writeup of photographer Gabe Kirchheimer.
The coverage came in advance of a one-night solo show, sponsored by Art For Progress, as a benefit for Art Start.
34, an international design and fashion magazine, ran eight Burning Man photos and a profile of Kirchheimer in its January 2005 issue.
Highlife, the British Airways inflight magazine, ran a 2-page spread of "Temple of Honor Promenade," from Burning Man 2003, in its September 2004 issue.
The November 2003 issue of Artforum, the world's leading art magazine, carried an article
by Daniel Pinchbeck, "The Art and Culture of Burning Man," with 10
photos by Gabe Kirchheimer. This represents a major milestone for
the Burning Man art festival, held annually in Nevada's Black Rock
Desert, as well as for the photographer, as the art world is increasingly acknowledging
Burning Man as a serious art event.
